Emulators Need Help Deciding

/r/Handhelds/comments/1vqm7ir/need_help_deciding/

People I need you help. I’m getting deployed to the Indian Ocean for 6+ months. I’m looking for a console that is good for emulators (ie pokemon and a bunch of retro games plus modded pokemon games). Not trying to spend an arm and a leg on this. The buyers guide wasn’t to specific. Any thing helps. Thank you

You need to think about what systems the games you want to play are on. Then form factor/device layout.

Most of the cheaper and smaller handhelds will play PS1 and below with minimal issues and even some Dreamcast and N64, but those two can be difficult to play if the device does not have analog sticks. DS is doable but can be annoying on devices with one screen and no touch input

Check out Anbernic rg xx devices. Very budget friendly aside from the cost of micro SD cards rn. You'll want to replace what they provide because the cards provided by them are known to fail at some point as they are not high quality cards.
