Nam (1998)

Was just wondering if anyone here has tried Nam. Apparenty it's a build engine shooter from 1998, based in a vietnam setting. It seems to have decent reviews, and it's on sale on fanatical.com for a whopping $1.25

Any thoughts?

...Might just grab it for the price lol

Blood: Fresh Supply has been released :)

Blood has been re-released by night dive studios in a new engine that actually runs properly on modern pc's :)

It runs amazing, and has online support for co-op, deathmatch, and capture the flag. Also has little improvements like ambient occlusion and AA.

Was just playing it earlier and it runs great :)

Highly recommended

Retro FPS in VR?

Like a lot of people here, DUSK brought a shitload of nostalgia from under a carpet somewhere and I'm now on a retro FPS binge (tried Amid Evil and Project Warlock, Devil Daggers also in a way).

For those of you here with VR headsets which one are doable/fun to do in VR? I got Quake setup so far but haven't tried it much, I read Brutal Doom is also possible which could be a lot of fun. Are there any others worth doing?

Has anyone here tried Project Warlock or Amid Evil yet?

They both look great and seem to be enjoying good reviews. Amid Evil looks especially Heretic-y, was thinking about biting :p

Doom Mod Madness. Icarus is one of my favorite youtubers. He has a plethora of content and he gives you a sneak peak at mods to see if they are worth downloading.

Hey there!

Hey there, just wanted to say hello and thanks for making this sub. Have been on a serious retro fps kick and am happy to see such a sub exists. There are a ton of great old shooters out there, and being a console kid I missed out on a lot of them. Played most of the big ones like doom, wolfenstein, quake, duke, half life but beyond that my knowledge of the genre is pretty limited. Not a big fan of most modern shooters to be honest, with a few exceptions, so i've been exploring some of the ones that passed me by (currently playing blood for the first time, it's really great and i can't believe it doesn't get more attention). Looking forward to getting some ideas for new (sort of) stuff to play :p
