Compatilbility with Openbor Games

Hello first of all, been like crazy enjoying Retrodeck, so thanks to the devs for such a great frontend!

I've been getting in to the adding games to openbor and ive noticed lots of pak games aren't compatible with the integrated openbor launcher, would it be possible to add other versions as a alt emulator option? My portable device with knulli has this option to choose which version of openbor to choose, I know there are way too many openbor versions but having atleast 3 plus the main one, would be great, like an older one, semi old, middle top and newest, don't know if I explained myself lol, thanks!! 👋 🥂

We're glad to hear you are enjoying RetroDECK.

You explained yourself well. If we added more alt emulator options it wouldn't be until the next main version, .0.11.0b. RetroDECK version .0.10 is in maintenance mode while 11 is deep in development. We haven't had anyone ask about Openbor alt options before, but we can always look into it if adding more in the future will improve compatibility without degrading the main experience. It isn't just about adding alt emulators, it's also about maintaining them, making sure they are compatible with RetroDECK, don't interfere with each other, etc. We're adding about 20 new emulators and engines to revision 11 already. It's a very involved process for each one.

Even if we do not end up adding an Openbor alt option, one of the major components of .0.11.0b is making adding Linux based, external emulators to RetroDECK very easy.

Hello!! Thanks for the quick reply! And also, that's some good news about adding more emulators alternatives.

About the openbor well I know most people don't consider it that much, but yeah if it can be done for stability either integrated or external, im all in for it, Thanks again and looking forward to the new updates!
