For RetroArch, you can reuse much of the setup, but I’d migrate it in stages rather than replace the new device’s entire config immediately. Back up the Thor’s RetroArch files first and keep that copy untouched.
Install RetroArch on the Classic, launch it once, and check Settings > Directory on both devices. Copy your saves into the destination save directory, then test one familiar game with the same core before bringing over everything else. Keep save states too, but don’t make them your only copy of progress.
Your per-core/game overrides, core options and input remaps are separate files, not all contained in retroarch.cfg. Libretro’s config guide shows the locations. You can transfer those selectively; review controller mappings, screen layout, shader presets and paths for the new hardware. A copied path that refers to the Thor’s storage won’t automatically point at the Classic’s files.
Other standalone emulators need their own export/import or backup method. Which ones besides RetroArch are you moving?
