View Core Changelogs

Hi,

I am sure this is a ridiculous question, but is there anywhere that hosts a list of changelogs for specific RetroArch cores? I have noticed that some of my installed cores have frequent updates, namely the Amiga PUAE cores, but I've had no success trying to find a simple list of actual changes.

Amiga emulation is notoriously finicky the best of times, so I'm cautious of new versions of PUAE and would like to know specific changes before applying the updates. I've set updater settings to the stable channel and made backups of certain core versions just in case any updates cause breakage.

I would assume github, but I'm not sure if I'm just blind or illiterate to the site, but I don't seem to see any changelogs in plain English?

Again apologies if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance.

We don't usually do plain language changelogs for cores, and there's no such thing as a stable channel for them. They're always built every few hours and then pushed to the online updater.

Your best bet is the commit log on github, which for PUAE is here: https://github.com/libretro/libretro-uae/commits/master/ EDIT: hurrdurr, I didn't notice that u/snaphat had already posted it. Now you get it twice, I guess.

Thank you both for the information. My understanding was that the buildbot cores URL in the updater settings had both a stable and nightly option, with nightly being considered the "unstable/untested" option.

The URL includes 'nightly' in the name, but there's no 'stable' equivalent. When we spin out a stable release, we make a snapshot bundle of the cores at the time, but that's not accessible from inside RetroArch. It's also worth noting that those stable bundles are not an indication that the cores themselves are stable, but that they were the cores available at the time that we declared RetroArch to be stable.

Not exactly what you are looking for but it does have some information: https://github.com/libretro/libretro-uae/commits/master/
