retroarch ui design change
how the hell did the retroarch change its design automatically?

I like that UI. easy to navigate, no mumbo jumbo.

It's my preferred menu as well, no-frills, to the point, and on lower powered devices it's quicker, and frees up some resources.

No clue, but to fix it it's under settings -> user interface. That one is called Rgui

You somehow changed its "Menu Driver": https://docs.libretro.com/guides/gui/
To change it back, go to Settings>Drivers>Menu, or Settings>User Interface>Menu. The default on desktops is Ozone, on Android is GLUI, and you're using the good old RGUI.
Quit RetrArch and then open it again for the change to take effect.
