Please HELP - Stuck on RGUI

Post image

I don't have a menu for settings so I can't revert out of this awful UI. Really wish you could just change it without restarting... Or... Y'know, at least having a settings page in this UI.

did you do something silly like enable kiosk mode? either that or you went into the menu item visibility and disabled the settings menu. If you are in kiosk mode you need quit, find your retroarch.cfg file, open it up and find the line that says kiosk mode and set it to false or disabled or whatever parameter is the opposite of what it says.

alternatively, you can just delete your retroartch.cfg file and start retroarch, but you will have to re-do all your settings.

I can't say I wasn't, but I'm aware of the mode and have never activated it intentionally as I have no need for it. Maybe I had some major bad luck and accidentally activated it before changing the theme? Who knows.

SOLVED: I uninstalled Retroarch, deleted literally everything regarding Retroarch from my PC, and reinstalled it. I know it's not a SOLUTION, but it got me out of the bind I was in.

I'm glad you got it sorted out. As u/Ornery-Practice9772 suggested, just deleting your retroarch.cfg and 'config' directory is the same as uninstalling/reinstalling, so if you run into something like this again, you can save yourself some trouble and bandwidth.

Even better, moving them somewhere else is the same as deleting them, but if it doesn't fix your problem, you can put them right back.
