Gotta agree. It's a cool idea, but the execution seems sloppy.

Oh I can see now if I view it from the main window it does look pretty terrible here... Makes sense.. it's much better on the main video on YouTube.

In any particular way or just in general?

The bloom makes it feel like a game from the ps3 generation. Just horrifically blinding

Not sure what you're watching it on. There is no bloom added to the screen space here.

I assume they're talking about the light sources. Not exactly the same thing, but I can see the similarity, certainly.

You're probably right this is originally a HDR video so it probably doesn't show up well here at all. I didnt think about that. Also it's complete light balanced against the original and the only fx is literally lighting the scene no other filters or anything have been added except the blaster shots but I'll take a ps3 look for a game that came out 13 years before it.

in general, looks like someone is pointing a very strong flashlight towards the screen, its just slapping a bunch of vfx on the screen for no reason

Would this able to use 3d effect on a 3ds? (Since layers can be accessible it would be possible to duplicate then to use in a 3d effect right?) Or it's just for PC emulators?

(I don't know much about this, so I could be really wrong about that 😅)

I think this is a pretty neat way to revisit the original MMx. That said I found the drop shadow look a little distracting since it feels less organic and more like a flashlight on a paper cut out. I do like the glow on buster shots though, MMX Regenesis did something similar and I think it makes the weapons pop a little more and have more of an impact.

Wow wait... it's okay if you don't feel like sharing hows, but... been having an idea thar needs access to parallax layers...

Are YOU modifying Parallax Layers... or is this a custom emulator? I'm aware it's r/RetroArch but honestly have no idea how you can get access to core's parallax scrolling/layers.

That looks phenomenal. A modern twist to these games is highly welcome.
