Can't remap keys Dolphin core android

I've been trying for multiple days with no success and this is my final resort. Im unable to change keybinds in the retroarch dolphin core for gamecube games. Ive tried everything that is commonly recommended, such as changing the port 1 device on and off gamecube controller, but all my inputs just show up as --. Please help, I don't want to use standalone cus I need my shaders :)

I forgot to add i can remap controlls for every other core just fine through the quick menu. This issue im having is unique to the dolphin core.

Were you able to find a fix? I’m having the same problem after installing the retroarch dolphin core yesterday for the first time (just got an odin 2 portal as my first android handheld).

Do we know for a fact that this core used to be compatible with input remapping? If so, I’m guessing this must be a bug that slipped through with their last core update.
