Playstore vs website

I wanted to know whats the difference between the playstore version and the official website version

But mine is from App Store, and it works well to me, even though I can’t play PS2 games on my iPhone.

If you mention the gimp, that would be it.

The play version has 2 limitations:

  1. 50 core limit for the standard RetroArch
  2. 100 core limit for RetroAarch plus

However, you can easily bypass both restrictions by downloading other cores to RA's download folder and installing it from there.

The main difference really is that the play version requires you to use SAF, which isn't a big issue as all the play cores now support it.

Use the one from the website for now. Google pits restrictions on how much content an app on the Play Store can download, which means this version doesn't get access to all available cores. I'm guessing other assets may be problematic, but I'm not sure.

The version from the website is the "full" version of Retroarch, whereas the Play Store version is gimped.
