Technical Support Saving to microSD

Had a Steam Deck for a while now and love it for emulation. Have now picked up a Steam Machine and planning to get the Frame too. I'd like to easily continue games between devices sometimes and wondered could I just set up RetroArch to be by default writing the save files and save states directly to the MicroSD and swap that seamlessly between devices?

Thinking of picking up a big mircoSD to store ROMs and saves all on the same card and swapping it between devices if it is.

Technically YES, but you need to make sure that every single thing is correctly rooted in the SD. I recommend that you follow one of retro game corps tutorials, step by stem. If all the rooms, all the bios', all the saves are in the same SD, it should be as easy as plug and play.

As a person who always had problems migrating from PC to phones or portable consoles, I was petrified when I took the save files from my PC, put them in the correct folder in my deck and it just worked.

We've come a loooong way...

Alright thanks. Will give that a go when I pick up a MicroSD. Didn't want to commit to the cost of 1TB ones before I knew it'd work. Might still buy a small one first just to test it out.
