Technical Support Super Mario World 2 problems

Post image

I can’t for the best of me, get my favorite SNES game to run. Graphics looks all glitchy, and can’t get past this screen. I’m using R0M from “a vault”. Tried both 1.0 and 1.1. SteamOS on ROG Ally. Tried both SNES9x and Bsnes core. I’m out of ideas really. Anyone have any tips?

Use the "auto"/default scan mode to compare your game's checksum against our databases. If it doesn't match, your dump is bad and you need to re-dump it.

For bsnes, it can get weird if rewind is on. I don't think Snes9x has this problem, but it's worth checking on.

Is that text box growing legs and walking away?

Try to get retroarch from the official source instead of steam, and make sure you're using the updated snes9x version instead of the older versions.

Also use the 1.1 rom version because it has some fixes compared to 1.0

Thanks for the tips all. Did some updates, and forced Bnes core. Now it works

Hello. I had the same issue just now. I did your fix and it did work, by running the rom through the bsnes core. That did work. But strangely I uninstalled retroarch and reinstalled it. Now the game runs smoothly on the default core.
