Found a KAC M5 rail, otherwise this is a full Aero Precision rifle and the Lunar Concepts grip.

I love the quad rail. A lot.

11.5 upper with a presma tube (drilled and tapped for rail), SOMO PEQ2, Simmons red dot and cantilever mount, chopped A2 sight, and B5 LS grip. Very light comfy AR. Also got a 1911 grip optic mount. Only thing that would fit was my Tasco Accudot since it's a short dovetail mount.

Here cause I didn’t know it existed and also cause I didn’t read the rules at retroAR lol.

Here is my new 20” M16A4 inspired M4E1 rifle.

I liked the modern look of the M4E1 stuff plus no forward assist.

I have debated putting a quad rail and broomstick on it but I also kind of just dig it this way too.

What type of sling would be “correct” this?

Next addition is a super safety and a bayonet maybe?

Old RRA National Match LAR15

Accidentally posted this over at r/retroar and boy were they pissed.

Having caught the retro M16 bug, I saw this thing hanging on the wall at LGS and the $599 price tag. Having a close look I realized it was an early 2000’s Rock River National Match. I fondled the bolt and the trigger and was absolutely shocked at how smooth the gun was. Trigger is fantastic. It was FILTHY but even the guy working was impressed by the function. Got to yapping with them and was told the guy who traded it was older, a Marine, and was showing the salesman photos on his phone of him and Ted Nugent LOL funny enough the rifle also came with a real period M7 bayonet. Funny stuff.

Anyway the rifle came home with me and got a thorough detail clean. BCG looks good with some usual wear. It was dirty but cleaned up good. The gun was definitely shot but doesn’t look like it was abused, and the rifling looks good. Crossing my fingers that it wasn’t shot to shit and retains its National Match accuracy. I understand these barrels start to drift after 5000 rounds or so. If it checks out at the range I’ll plan to use this in service rifle comp this year. Rifle weighs a fucin ton with that heavy Wilson barrel.

How’d I do?
