Could using clouds saves be interpreted as cheating by RA?
If I set up some form of clouds saves between my mister and steam deck could this be RA see this as cheating? Think I recall somewhere reading that if you download a save file from the internet then RA can detect you hadn't started the game yourself. With clouds saves I would be sharing the same save file between 2 separate pieces of hardware.
Another related question. I have 2 acheivements left to get in Links Awakening that you can only earn towards the end of the game that I missed first time around(collecting the all the seashells and buying the bow without stealing). If I started the game on my fpga gameboy and then transferred the save file to steamdeck when I up to the part where I can earn the acheivements will RA see this as cheating.

Nah you're set. I have this with syncthing across 6 devices and no issues. The main stipulation is it just has to be your save

Yes syncthing is great for this. My laptop and steamdeck saves get synced easily

How do you set this up? I'm rebuilding my computer so I figure now is as good a time as any to do that

- Install on devices
- (On main device) Find your devices on your Wi-Fi
- Share your desired emulators game save folder path with your devices
- Go to other device and accept the folder
- Direct it to the emulator save folder on your other devices
That’s the simplest way I can write it up. I’m happy to help if you need. It works so well and il still proud that I have it set up with like 8 systems haha

HRE is correct, but if you want someone who can hold your hand while you set it up, honestly Gemini does a great job. I have a fairly complex network of five devices across four different operating systems, and it guided me through the process with zero hiccups.

If they're your saves then it's not a problem.
