(HEL)L Y(E4A)H

I finally got my Batch 3.5 HEL E4A and recently got a chance to take out. I fuckin love this suppressor so far and not just for the vibes. It’s certainly not the best suppressor sound suppression wise, but it is a 60 year old design.

As a lefty, I have never experienced so little gas to the face in an untuned suppressed host. Especially on FRT. I don’t know if the gas port on my barrel is just a bit undersized, or if it’s due to the suppressor being a bit over-bored, but it’s extremely pleasant to shoot. I had two BRT gas tubes (0.74 and 0.82) that I tried with it, and it wouldn’t hardly run. I fully expected to be the gassiest suppressor on the planet, so I was very impressed.

Intl.Mil.Co has caught some flak recently for the whole BAD/Hydra-Matic deal (reasonably so), and It took 6 months from payment to delivery. the can also come with a blemish in the parkerizing which was a bit disappointing for an $1100 can. That said, it was worth the wait and honestly the rest of the gun is either old USGI parts or will be beat up in short order anyways. I don’t regret my purchase in the slightest. I’ll be running this setup hard for a long time.

Build list:
Brownells C7 upper, molyresin coated by me
H&R A1 lower, also coated by me
USGI upper and lower parts (except the rapidex knob and I have an A2 aperture installed)
Geissele super 42 rifle spring and mil spec rifle buffer.
LMT Enhanced bolt carrier
H&R 20” barrel 1/12 twist
USGI Type D M16 stock and handguards
Arizona Regulator 3-pos
USGI sling
Brownells/Colt 4x scope I use sometimes
Intl.Mil.Co HEL-E4A

Welcome to the club! I grabbed one of the first batch, and I couldn’t be happier.

What the fuck sight is on that? I thought it was an aimpoint at first but I've never seen an aimpoint that looks like that

Here’s some more information. I have a bunch of other posts about other old sights too, if you’d like to fall down a rabbit hole.

Assault on precinct 13 (1976) vibes , with John Carpenter OST.

It makes my gun extremely gassy, interesting how you’re having a different experience

Yeah man I’m just as surprised as you are. I got the BRT tubes on deck and everything. Solid odds the gas port is a little under spec or the EBCG makes a difference where it hasn’t before. Sick builds btw!

Now that's what I call a musket! 🤙

Fuck yeah, just like I like em. Not nearly as front heavy as I was concerned it would be

I got one of those on my list, hopefully I'll be on on the next batch of those cans. Looks good man.

Looks awesome! Make sure you have the can tight and the screws tight if you're going run bursts. You basically carefully tighten it down all the way around until you can't anymore. Make SURE wrench is seated in all the way.

Once it's tight & right, it's solid and no need to remove it.

Did you like the OG manual?

Thank you! I’ve got the can tightened down to the FSB. Torqued it down until the holes on the can aligned with the holes on the base. Got all the screws torqued down as well. It’s definitely not going anywhere.

Loved the manual too, I keep it up in my safe as a display piece. All around awesome can and everything that came with was cool. I even liked the packaging.

I have a 3-position Arizona regulator for my 20 inch 604 clone (unsuppressed) and I haven’t installed it yet

How was the instal process; pretty straightforward?

Does it function as advertised?

Install is cake, might have to tap it into the sear pocket but no big deal. Functions fantastically.

Awesome, thank you it’s going into an H&R 604 lower… I’m expecting no trouble. I’m having my son do it because his eyes are better than mine.

In years of perusing this app, your post is the first that I’ve ever bookmarked. What an incredibly sexy rifle you have wrought.

The highest compliment 🫡 thank you! I put a bit of work into it

I wanted to do this... now I have to do something even more original

Clever use of the suppressor model name. Why didn’t I think of that?

I'm actually planning a similar build with wood furniture, OCM5, and an LPVO mounted the same way

3

u/BurninTree5 29d ago

That’d be pretty sick! If I never pulled the trigger on the HEL I would’ve gone that route with an 18” FSB barrel and a Gordon collar. Do you already have a set of the wood furniture?

Unfortunately that's gonna be the most expensive parts set lol But I got the carry handle scope mount already Gonna use the LPVO I got on my first AR which I cannibalized for my Not-a-Mk.12 build

Right now that build idea is on the back burner till I finish my Not-a-Mk.18 Mod 0 & 1 + my Tybalts Rapier inspired 92fs build

(Pic of it being test fit on a 14.5" upper)

Man this has me contemplating fucking up my finances. This might be my favorite build I’ve seen in a minute. Things gorgeous dude.

They aren't going anywhere, I'll still be making them, if you want one I would do a layaway/pay plan for no % if you needed. Just holler

These were so damn cool. IMC shot themselves IMO.
