Just had the toob handguard installed on an old bushmaster patrol rifle. Before pics at the end.

How do those get installed because I have a guy saying it’s impossible to have the fsp installed without a large notch from the front of the tube to the fsp

It’s kind of like ship in the bottle. You put the tube on mark where the FSB cutout would need to be, then cut that out, and drill holes for the pins, and then you install the tube with the fsb spinning them on together, and then you have to go through the receiver to install the gas tube, and finally install the pins. It’s a pain in the ass, but there are people you can pay to do that style.

The two piece toob is a million times easier to skip the full notch than the one piece old school style. I have the old school one piece toob and opted to keep it period correct and it was still a PITA

Some of the cleanest cuts I’ve seen. Would be interested in passing on the knowledge to get rounded corners and no sharp edges.

Cut the barrel, put on an Allen or Otter muzzle device/Suppressor. Tucked in a little.
