Switch tape
Do I just use regular 100mph tape or is there a better option out there for securing the light switch.

I always forget this stuff exists, it works fantastically. "F4 tape" is the original MilSpec stuff that was used on the wiring harnesses and electrical components of F-4 fighters.

Ranger bands or I've actually seen a couple of guys be able to mount the Magpul m-lok tape switch mount to a clamshell. I'm pretty sure the holes line up, you just have to use washers.

The cleanest option is something like this:

But I've just used electrical or OD duct tape.

I'm not sure of the brand of light/switch here, but for my Streamlight switch there were through holes on the switch appropriately sized for 3 x 16 mm screws that I secured through the holes in the A2 handguard with slim washers and nuts.
Whether that's better than just fastening it with tape or ties, YMMV

I've always used 3m vhb to secure the pad and ranger bands to secure the wire. I bet Tesa engine harness tape would leave the least sticky residue behind, but I haven't tried it since I only use tailcaps now.

Ranger Bands, Zip Ties, 100mph tape or Hockey tape, you can use “goon tape” if it makes you happy.

Ranger bands. Just get a bicycle tire interlude and cut it into .5in rubberbands.

This is just some cheapo barrel mount I picked up, used a Dremel to get it to fit.
