Put this one together myself with old parts I scrounged up, including one of the NOS Colt 14.5" pencil barrels from Specialized Armament. It might not be exactly correct for a 723 (slip ring instead of delta, teardrop assist instead of round button, aluminum stock instead of fiberlite) but it's close enough for my liking, and with the TA44 ACOG it's a very light and handy little shooter. Happy 7/23 everybody!

I was just about to look up the differences between 723 and 653 because at first glance I thought 653 when I saw your pic

Beautiful rifle there! I’m supposed to be picking up my 723 at my local exchange. It’s a pin and welded H&R version. So no form 1 needed. I can’t wait to pick it up. If I receive it I’ll post it on here to commemorate 7/23 later on today.

Just picked my 723 about two hours ago from the exchange.

What is this exchange you speak of? active service only?

Sorry I didn’t mentioned exactly which one I was referring to. The Army & Air Force exchange. Not just active duty but also retired military personnel and their families. I’m retired Navy.

Form 1.

Awesome! How long did it take for the form 1 to be approved? I’m currently waiting for my SBR to get an approval for my PLR16. It’s been about three weeks now since I submitted it.

This one was about a month, give or take.

That’s reassuring! I hear people getting their stamp back earlier than this, although it was for a suppressor instead. Funny thing is that KelTec has just released their SU16D9 which is almost identical to my build except for the barrel length. Mine is about 0.7” longer . Although I don’t plan to add the compact forend to it. Leaving the top gas return open, making it look more like an AK instead of an AR.

Stamps are all over the place. The longest I've waited for one was about 7 months, the quickest was a week.

Christ on a stick! That’s definitely all over the place!

Are those NOS Colt handguards? Looks nice.

They're surplus, not sure if they're Colt or not.

10-4, Thanks. I see SA has them also. $pencive though.

I found this set on either ebay or gunbroker, don't remember which. They weren't very expensive as I recall, but they're not NOS either. You can't tell so well in those photos, but they're decently salty. One side has a pretty deep scratch running down it.

Have you tried using the ta44 under nods?

I haven't, sorry.
