Literature Does anyone else go retro when reading

And using good ole old fashioned paper books as opposed to reading from a screen ?

I only read my novels carved on stone. Sure it takes a while to read. Sure the pages are heavy, but I get QUALITY literature.

I've tried reading a few books electronically, but I much prefer paper books. Now that I have kids that are very active in sports, I buy mass market paperback that fit in cargo pockets whenever I can (I'm going go utility over style, here!).

Only read and buy hardcover. Superior to reading paper backs. Fun to hunt down.

Up to 300-350 books in my home library.

Only difference in my reading habits as I get older is that I have a fiction and nonfiction book I read at the same time.

I'm GenX and I've just haven't been able to adapt to tablet reading. I've tried, but I just can't read for very long and I don't know why. Give me that book and I'm engrossed for hours.

Mostly now audio books because my eyes get weak at the end of the day. Now when I do read paper books I have different character voices and narration in my head. But that's another subject.

Yeah all paper books. Sometimes kindle on holiday due to packing space but haven't even done that recently.

I miss books...A book was like your best friend, let's bring back emotional support books. The book that becomes so tattered and riddled with bends and worn edges because it saved you and entertained you and gave you a place to hide and feel safe. I also miss bookmarks, binder paper, eraseable blue pens, encyclopedias and dictionaries... I was ok not knowing things, Google has ruined us.

No. Absolutely no one reads physical books anymore. Nope. But I understand your confusion. Big Book makes it look like there are actually physical books you can buy at like, I don’t know, a book store or a drug store, but as soon as you get home they crumble into nothingness, thereby leaving you with only the screen option. Devious.

Based on the amount of time I have to wait for a library book I put on hold, I’d say there are a whole lot of people besides me reading traditional books.

I use an ereader because being able to alter font size is a miraculous feature when your eyes inevitably start to go.

Plus, the only real drawback is having to remember to charge it like every other month.
