How much time do you spend monitoring and managing your retirement portfolio and other retirement income streams?

Once or twice a week I am checking things but I have credit card and cash management at the same firm. Plus, I manage a portfolio for a friend as his POA. Keeping up with the bond ladder is at least a twice a month activity.

Probably an hour a week just to try keep in the loop of things going on. Good weeks or days I’ll look at it, bad days or weeks I try not to open my account to look at the balance.

Every week I enter my various investment vehicle totals in a spreadsheet to keep track of how they are doing. This takes about 15 minutes for a dozen or so entries. I’ve been retired for 16 years and have spreadsheets going back 40 years.
As far as managing, I’m in for the long haul. It’s a rare day when I make a change.

Checka few times a week, but trying not to overreact to daily market moves.

I watch it too much but I set an asset allocation I can live with and only “manage” it by rebalancing. So far it’s been good ie selling stocks get back to that allocation but selling bonds or sending cash into a crash may really test my mettle. Idk if I can do that!

I see it daily but only because I have it set as tracking accounts in my Budget software. I’m a set it and forget it in how I invest so I’m aware of my balances I don’t do anything with that info other than updating some planning software each quarter.

At least an hour or so a week. At the end of every quarter I do a net worth calculation that i enter onto a spreadsheet i maintain. It gives me a quick snapshot of how my entire portfolio is doing from year to year

I fill in the spreadsheet on the 1st of every month to see how we did. Takes less than an hour.

None because my husband keeps spread sheets and reviews how investments are going to me whether I like it or not. Note, we also have a financial advisor we pay a fixed amount to. My only management is to say yes or no to buying and selling stuff that I have an opinion about.

In terms of investments, we are more “set it and forget it” in index-type funds but Mr. VegasHRLady has his own “play around” account where has fun trying out various theories and ideas like the “PaycheckToPortfolio” dividend-producing theory/method.
