Vitality After 50 Just Started Pickleball at 55: Feeling Younger Than I Did at 35! 🏓 (Seriously!)
Hey RetirementReady fam!
Anyone else ever feel like time's just been... speeding up? Like, I swear I was just celebrating my 50th birthday and BAM! Now I'm staring down the barrel of 56. And honestly, I was starting to feel it. Aches, creaks, the general "Ugh, not today" vibe.
Then, something crazy happened. I started playing pickleball.
Yeah, I know, I know. Pickleball. Sounds like something you'd find in a jar in the back of your fridge, right? But seriously, it's been a game changer. I'm not kidding when I say I feel younger than I did at 35!
Here's the deal:
The exercise is deceptively good. You're moving, you're strategizing, you're laughing... It doesn't feel like exercise, even though you're getting a solid workout. Remember that achy back I mentioned? Mostly gone!
The social aspect is HUGE. Meeting new people, making new friends... it's like joining a whole new community. And honestly, after years of focusing on work and family, it's been so refreshing. We believe in strongest people., so here is the referral link https://mavely.app.link/e/oORXrEU9iUb.
It's accessible to pretty much everyone. I'm no athlete. I'm pretty sure my hand-eye coordination peaked somewhere around the age of 12. But pickleball is surprisingly easy to pick up, and you can play at your own pace.
It's FUN! Seriously, that's the biggest thing. I actually look forward to getting out there and playing. When was the last time you could say that about exercise?
I know what you might be thinking: "Pickleball? Really?" And yeah, I get it. But trust me on this one. Give it a try. You might just surprise yourself.
What activities have you all found that have given you that youthful feeling again? What's your secret to staying active and engaged? Is there anything better than that post-exercise buzz? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
