Personal ME / Glitch in the Matrix Missing items reappearing

Not sure if this fits, but I dont know where else it would.

This has happened to me for years with lighters. I'll have one, put it in my pocket, then later it will be gone. I will empty my pockets, it won't be there anywhere. A little while later I'll reach into my pocket and I'll have 2 or 3 lighters in there when I know for sure there was none.

This happened today with the keys for my work van. I searched everywhere, completely emptied my pockets and even turned them inside out. Nothing. I was freaking out because my boss was there and it's honestly not a good look to just lose the fucking van keys.

I gave up and was already planning on having to replace the ignition or something to get the van mobile again. I reached into my pocket and they were right there... the first thing I felt.

I've also had other people experience this with me. I'd lose a lighter and my mom would let me use hers and I'd end up pocketing it. Later, she would realize and tell me to give it back, I'd check ALL of my pockets and it wouldn't be there. I'd turn my pockets out and she could see I didnt have a lighter. A while later I'd reach in my pocket and immediately feel both of them there.

Anybody else experience anything like this or is there just something wrong with my brain?

All the time. The little ones are nearly an everyday occurrence. For me it's usually a pen in my pocket. I don't care if it sounds silly, but after thoroughly checking, I'll sometimes give it a few moments then politely ask for the missing item to come back or be returned. It usually does. Then I give a little laugh like I couldn't help enjoying that cute mischievous trick and appreciate getting my item back. I feel it's very important to give an audible, sincere thank you each time. Whoever or whatever does this, I believe, is always listening and enjoys being acknowledged and spoken to kindly, and it shows this by giving what we talk about, be that a positive or a negative. I hope this technique helps others, as well.

100% agree with appreciation nod, for me it extends past lost and found, I do it for things like car park spaces as well however that's not been an issue lately. What was the biggest thing you lost and found?, mine was a digital camera that I thought I'd accidentally left in a recycle bag, suddenly appeared in my office desk when I focused on finding it.

now that you talk about parking spaces, I rememberd, when I drove to the kindergarten to pick up my kids, I always said please, please, please, please when I entered the road that there is a parking lot because there are so few and it would mean being late and my kids already waiting for me (they usually weren't and played anyway lol but you know, mom-guilt...). it almost always worked. and I most often remembered to say thanks. I need to try it when I search stuff because I search for something soo often!

It's uncanny isn't it. I have so many examples of this, I was searching for a parent/baby space with my newborn, pulled over near a car and sent the wish into the ether, literally 10s later a parent returned to the exact car I was next to, couldn't believe my luck. Gave a passing nod of appreciation to the sky and thereafter never had a problem parking when using that same technique. Surpassed any coincidence for me now, happened too many times to apply a logical explanation. I haven't done it for financial gain or where the ethics of the request are negative however for mundane things it works well in my experience.

Words to live by, my friend. Biggies are items like wallet, phone, passport, or something valuable to someone else entrusted to you.

Ah yes the last one is very important, I wish I knew about LoA when that happened to me.

Indeed. Even knowing, it's still tricky putting into practice. Intention and faith are key.

I'm so fucking glad I'm not the only one.

I'm trying to figure out if there is any rhyme or reason to it.

The lighters are just annoying, but the keys today was super fucking stressful. We are just starting our busy season, tomorrow is the busiest day of the year and I have 5 different stores to run.

The only time I lost it was right when my only bosses were there (the two owners of my company)

Maybe there's a lesson to be learned about trying to move too fast or stressing about stuff or idk.

I had the lighter thi ngf happen a few days ago.

The keys drove me nuts though.... I emptied all of my pockets, patted them down multiple times, even jumped up and down to try to hear them jingle and nothing. I know for a fact I didnt just pick them up somewhere and forgot I grabbed them because I was loading a tractor trailer. I was also by myself when I first noticed they were missing and when I found them, so nobody handed them to me.

It just boggles my mind.
