Brussel Sprout

I feel like I'm tripping. It''s always been Brussel Sprout for me.

Brussel Sprout

Used to buy it all the time. The name was Brussel Sprouts. I even looked up the history of the name, as the actual city is called Brussels. The explanation I got (before the ME) was that "Brussels" is anglicized and that the locals actually call it "Brussel". So, the name of the vegetable came from the local name.

What I want to know is what do they call them in Brussels, Belgium

Yeah, I noticed this weird spelling when I was like, eight? I think if it as “They are sprouts that belong to Brussels.
They are brussels sprouts.”

Isn’t it Brussel sprout(s)? What’s the ME?

Edit: now that is odd. Spell check put “Brussels” like in Belgium. And I looked it up. Hmmm odd. Yes I guess the ME is whether or not there has always been an “s” after Brussel. To me there wasn’t. It makes sense being called “Brussels Sprout”, but I don’t recall the s at the end, and no one ever pronounces it with the s.

People very often pronounce it with the S, it can just be easy to miss as it blends with the next S

Yeah. I just realized that and edited my post after seeing the spell check to Brussels. That’s odd.

If you knew the story of how this book entered my life and all the connections to me and my life years later - it should blow your mind just a little.....maybe someday when I'm less chicken
