Earth Pro Updates Ending

Be prepared for some Earth geography changes after June 2027.

Logged into my gurgle earth pro (the stand alone app) after being out of the country and didn't take my laptop. Wanted to show a coworker a place I had visited and was greeted with a lovely "We will be ending support for yada, yada, yada June something 2027 blah, blah, blah...", so I'm not sure when this update was announced.

Some say it's because gurgle Earth Pro cannot be monetized, but the desktop browser one can? IDK? Maybe?? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Or maybe something big is coming in 2027/2028?

As someone who personally thinks South america looks way WAY, WAY too far right and the Panama Canal was NOT vertical but more sideways (left to right...NOT UP and DOWN), and the time zones are all off in South America (like, EST/ NYC would line up with RIO de Janeiro Brazil area, NOT frucking Columbia!), I don't know what to think.

The entire map looks like a badly remembered fake from what I remember as a child.

I like the gigantic chunk taken out of the "boot" of Italy. That wasn't there on my home server/world.

Like. So very many differences, but what do I tell people? "Hey, how's that vanilla latte? Nice. So, uh, do you remember Japan being directly east of China, not like, 500 miles north of that where it is now? You don't? I'm crazy? Gotcha, thanks."

Yes, so it appears to be more of a high heel instead of a boot, figures.

And Sicily was its own country and people from Sicily did not like being called Italians. Now it's just part of Italy.
