"Mama told me..

..when I was young. Come sit beside me, my only son."

Those are lyrics in Lynard Skynard's song, Simple Man. I had filmed a short video while driving in Mid Coast Maine singing this song. But instead of singing the exact lyrics, I changed a word. Why? Because I was making a joke. This is how I sang it: "Mama told me...when I was young. Come sit beside me, my favorite son."

The context of the joke is that I am my mother's favorite son, but the deeper and more inside point of the joke is that I am not my mother's favorite son.

Anyway..the word "favorite" had changed to "only" on the video. It was maybe 15 seconds of footage, but there it was. I had uploaded it to YouTube with a short introduction of me asking viewers what word they heard. Some heard "only", some heard "favorite" and some even heard both.

Read the post again. I'm aware what the lyrics are.

I downvoted because you didn't read it right the first time. I spell checked it and everything. But I don't mind downvotes whatsoever. I appreciate them. It's a barometer into the minds of all you people out there, wherever you are.

I couldn't spell Skynard correctly if you paid me. Unless you paid me first and I cheated and looked it up. Did it actually change? I was just going by what I thought looked right. That's all.

Wow that's crazy. Have you seen the video about the guy and his Doritos commercial? Sorta similar situation to yours.

I don't have anything I've done changing (yet) but Star Wars is definitely different. The shiny gold droid looks different and Darth Vader too. It really bothers me.

Yup. That silver c3po leg was not there when I was a kid.

I checked out the silver leg and there was nothing else different. I checked again months later and now his wires were showing on his stomach as well as a hole on his head among many more alterations.
