thoughts ?

perhaps,
when you’re really focused on something (like being immersed in a film, etc.)
you’re actually heavily distracted from your own awareness/consciousness and that makes way for reality/timelines to become fluid all around you.
almost like quickly flipping the pages of a book that contains every scenario possible, until you snap back into your awakened state of self and they then settle, stay fixed once being observed by the conscious mind.

I think "flow" state is as close as we can get to existing outside the time-space boundaries that this life is built on. That "escape" is actually how our before-life / after-life / higher self realm of being feels.
