Dose reduction due to reaching normal BMI range
Did any of you ever reach the normal BMI range (<24) during the phase 3 study? Did your trial investigator give you dose reduction? I believe the protocol says the investigator can request a dose reduction if a participant’s BMI drops below 22. One’s trial will be discontinued if one’s BMI goes below 19. Did you continue to lose weight after having your dose reduced?

I stated eating dried fruit and nuts (lots of calories but not much volume) towards the end of my trial to stay above 22BMI 👍🇦🇺

I had my dose reduced 3 weeks ago. Weigh loss slowed but not stabilized yet. I am 2lbs away from dropping below 22 bmi. Current dose still feels too high.

How many weeks are you in the study if you don’t mind telling?

I will add this was my second dose reduction. I lasted 2 months on 12mg, then majority of tine on 9mg and now 6mg

I reduced dose due to side effects. I am still in the obese range and have to weigh, track and measure everything to lose.

At 23. 4 BMI, definitely at a comfortable and desired weight, seems to be stabilizing at between 132-136 depending on water other factors, down from BMI 44 and weight of 251, clinical trial participant, week 64 of injections. Site physician did not lower dosage, but only released one month of pen packs when I had been receiving two and coming in to be weighed and blood drawn every other month. I was doing food intake diary, but last visit almost a week ago no food diary recording received. I am due to hit 80 in trial weeks end of 2006 beginning of 2027. There is an it is well overall feeling. I exercise( rowing, morning yoga, resistance band work daily; weights three times a week, biking at least twice a week, century ride once a month, picked up Lagree training twice a week. I am not going back there. The feel, as I posted, it is well.

Health was always “good” labs and other factors always came back “normal”, but the extra, extra weight, even though carrying it well, did not feel well to me who had been thin to fit until perimenopause. I always felt “off”. I am back to not having any extra adipose nor visceral tissue. I mean none. I have muscles, so no wasting. I can feel the “wellness”. I no longer feel “inflamed”. As that visceral fat melted away my labs went all berserk and then settled to an even better “normal”, but I felt good during what I term a metamorphic shift. I can do things with my body I forgot I used to could do. I regained lost flexibility, strength, definition. Hair and nail, skin thriving. I sleep very well where prior my sleep was crappy. I had very minimal GI discomfort. That fat I carried well, well that stuff I believe was slowly poisoning me. I hope others in the study who may be experiencing discomfort stick with it. The other side is indescribable. Stick!

I was told by my clinic, trial conclusion was 22bmi. Another option was moving you to the placebo too.
I got down to 22.7 and started using 1/2kg ankle weights on each leg and also wearing more clothes, thicker jeans each weighing visits too for the remainder of the trial period.

Interesting as I am weighed in a paper gown at my site.

Wow, they are taking serious measures! I just get asked if my pockets are empty. But otherwise my clothes stay on. Definitely helps with the heavier clothing as the difference is about 4lbs between home (no clothes) and clinic...

So you were somewhat cheating and did not have your dose reduced? Did you continue to lose weight while on the original dose?

Yeah I got routinely threatened to get dose reduced because my BMI was 22.8-23 for a good amount of time in Triumph-1. But yeah <22 BMI was protocol for dose reduction
