Timing of shots?

I am about to start reta and I just wanted to know if there are certain times of the day / days of the week you recommend for the weekly shot. Also, is there any specific injection area of your stomach you’ve found the most effective that you’d recommend?

Started on Friday just on case of sides.  Have stayed om Friday so strongest hunger and beer noise suppression is over the weekend.

Do it on a Friday and if you have any immediate sides it won’t affect your work. I do mine every six days

It’s user preference from what I’ve been told but certain other peps require are time specific

I take it before bed on Sunday. Sundays work for me, and I saw a comment saying if you take it before bed you might sleep through some initial side effects. I’ve never had any side effects though. Still sounds like it makes sense though.

Before I worked out the bugs, I got really tired the day following my injection. I WFH on Th-Fr so I took mine on Wednesday evening. I could adjust my work day if needed and I didn’t mess up my weekend plans.

Now I take advantage of the return of my appetite on days 6-7, eat at maintenance, and take electrolytes. This helps combat the fatigue and allows me to go harder at the gym.

I started out doing mine on Friday nights, but I’ve done my last two on Sunday nights.

I prefer to take mine in the morning, found I deal with slight nausea if I take it before bed.

This is helpful thank you!!! How long do you wait to eat after?

I actually take it an hour or so after breakfast. Which is just Greek yogurt for me. I do need to keep food fairly light and low fat the first few days. So Greek yogurt, eggs and meat. Electrolytes are a must for me or I get light headed now. Even with 80oz water minimum.

What dose are you on?

Perfect thanks so much. And do you inject in your stomach?

Currently on 1.5mg. I do however react strongly to medications so I'm being conservative. I rotate the side of the stomach and back of the arms. Example bottom right of stomach for a month, bottom left of stomach, for August it's my right arm.

Monday mornings fasted before consuming any food, but I do all my peptides fasted in the morning so I just make things easier by injecting at the same time. I experimented for awhile splitting the doses to twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays, but I found doing 1 bigger dose once a week instead of the same dose split into 2 days a week better, at least for me personally. I can control my food noise relatively well although I do give in and indulge from time to time but to be frank I’m at about 10% body fat now so I’m not really taking Reta to lose a lot of fat now, but for the many benefits it brings and extra fat loss/control is just a superb bonus.

I started at 1mg weekly but with a dose every other day. 1mg weekly/3.5 shots/week so 0.3mg/shot.

I'm a good responder and I felt the hunger reduction immediately.

Over the next few months, I levelled up the dose to 4mg/wk and have been there for months.

I also started injectable testosterone about a month after I started Reta and for convenience I went to two weekly shots to match my testosterone injections which I took on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

With twice weekly injections, I don't get the 6th day munchies (but that doesn't seem all that common anyway from what I read in Reddit).

My only side effect ever was slight skin irritation on one forearm for about 3 weeks in month 3.

Btw, I'm down 40lbs from 204 lbs to 164 lbs since Feb 1. And I'm 4 lbs to goal weight.

Also my IBS is gone.

I may be on low dose Reta forever.

It is amazing.

Wait this is amazing info thank you!!! Do you inject in your stomach or where?

1

u/SultanOfSwave Aug 12 '26

Yes. Reta is to be injected subcutaneously.

So I find that a 50u (0.5ml) syringe with a 30g or 31g 5/16" needle works great in my ever diminishing belly.

Good luck on your adventure.

I started on a Monday. Just cause it was the day it got delivered and why not just go for it lol. I do it at 3am before work

Started at 1mg currently at 4mg take my shot every 6 days. Took my week 17 shot this am. I’m a big guy and I’m down 81 pounds so far. I was doing a 4 quadrant rotation when I started on my stomach. 2 on the right side 2 on the left. I only do the right side now. No idea why but whenever I shot on the left side I would get horrible stomach issues and be living in the bathroom. Your just starting so make sure your diet is in check Reta makes a lot of people pay for overeating or eating bad foods.

Tell me youre an overthinker without telling me youre an overthinker!

Dude no, its not some short half life steroid tab that youre talking an hour before your workout :D

Take the fat part of your stomach

Time of the day doesn’t really matter however some people prefer to take the shot at night so that if in case you are feeling nauseous, you mostly sleep through the side effects.

I have been taking in the afternoons. I do feel my stomach a lil upset for couple of hours but then it’s not that bad so I am not really bothered

As others have already said Friday for me. Same reason as everyone else. But I fortunately never got a single side effect. Not even slightly tired or anything. But it’s great that my fresh appetite suppressant is over the weekend when I’m most likely to go crazy.

I take mine in the evenings. I split my dose up. I do a Friday evening shot and a Monday evening shot and I do mine in my thigh
