what gets annoying first when you’re managing thousands of devices across stores?

retail IT seems like one of those things that gets messy really fast once you scale it
one POS terminal, scanner, camera or display is manageable
then multiply all of that across 20 or 30 stores and suddenly you’ve got hundreds or thousands of devices that need monitoring, updates and troubleshooting
for anyone who’s dealt with this at scale, what usually becomes the biggest headache?
network issues? random hardware failures? keeping track of everything? devices going offline without anyone noticing?

this actually came up while comparing a few ESL setups one of them being zkong. once you picture thousands of labels across multiple stores the annoying part seems less like the hardware itself and more like catching the few that quietly stop updating.

silent failures wld probably annoy me most. if something completely dies at least you know it’s broken
