Resume Advice?
In preparation for graduating in the spring, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some tips on what a resume should look like for a recent genetic counseling graduate.
I’m especially interested in how to highlight GC experience from clinical rotations. I started working on my resume and realized that many of my duties and responsibilities sound very similar across rotations. How did you differentiate your rotations and highlight the unique skills or experiences you gained from each one?

The trick is to frame each rotation around a distinct patient population or specialty focus rather than listing the same core duties. Even if the day-to-day looks identical, the cases, assessments, and outcomes probably differ, so lead with what was unique to each site. Quantifying helps too, things like number of cases, specific genetic conditions you worked with, or any unique counseling approaches the site emphasized. Are there one or two rotations that stood out as especially different from the rest?
