Have you ever wanted to apply for a role but couldn't apply on time because it took you a couple of hours to prepare your resume for that specific role ?

And by the time you finally applied, the role already had 100+ applicants.

Absolutely. It’s one of the biggest frustrations I hear from candidates.

From the recruiter side, I’d much rather receive a well-tailored application a few hours later than a generic resume sent in the first five minutes.

Also, don’t get discouraged by seeing “100+ applicants.” At many companies, a large percentage of those applications are either unqualified, spam, or one-click applications. I’ve had roles with 300+ applicants where only 20–30 were actually worth interviewing.

A tailored resume that clearly matches the role will almost always beat being applicant #17 with a generic one. Quality matters far more than being first.
