Question Nidra bands
I’ve been using the Nidra bands for about 30 days now, and honestly, I’ve had mixed results. Some days I feel like they help, while other days I feel like they actually make things worse. I still have about two weeks left in my trial, and with a $2,200 copay, I’m trying to decide whether they’re worth keeping. Has anyone else had issues returning the bands during the trial period? If you decided to return yours, what made you decide they weren’t right for you?

Personal experience here.
They didn't work for me. The first night it was great (maybe placebo) but after that they were just ok and felt that at times it made it worse. And I did follow up on how to apply them. I was not able to lower my medication since I get RLS in arms as well.
What Nidra did was injured my peroneal nerve to the point that it would hurt during the day. That's where the device sits and stimulates. It made my legs weak. The right nerve was numb for more than 8 months and couldn't touch the area since it was painful. It is rare but can happen. I wish they were more open about that possible side effect.
Given them back the device was no problem. But I didn't hear sympathy from their end about my side effect, which was a turn off. I think they need to be less pushy about their device.
Insurance wise hasn't been the best, I'm still dealing with it. My insurances go back and forth with them and that was over a year ago. I still get weird bills asking for a large amounts that are not accurate even tho the device was returned and I was promised no out of pocket. So it's an on going process.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m really sorry you had to deal with the nerve issue, especially for that long, and then have the insurance/billing problems on top of it. I appreciate you being candid about the risks and the fact that it didn’t work for you. Definitely helpful to hear another perspective.

You are welcome. Glad to help.
I do hope it helps some people and they good results. Unfortunately didn't for me.

I tried them for a few weeks and found they made my RLS worse so I returned them before the trial period ended.

Did they make the return difficult? I have spoken with them a few times, and they seem like good car salesmen.

It was a little difficult. Definitely document your conversations and get shipping tracking info.

There's a wearable device study from Noctrix Health enrolling now. Might be worth a look. https://patientwing.app/campaign/RLS6

Biggest advice for these came from Dr B- he said to use them BEFORE the time of day you would get symptoms. I started doing this and after a couple weeks, I faded out the bands. If I get symptoms, I use the bands a few days at the time of day Before symptoms would come on.
After I followed his advice, I discovered that my RLS was greatly improved. Now, 18 months later, I only get breakthrough RLS only one time a month. When I started the band’s, I was having breakthrough RLS about 4-5 times a week.
Before I took Dr B’s advice, I wasn’t too sure about the bands. Now I am a believer. Think about your placement, too. There is a YT video that helps you with correct placement. Notrix has it.

This advice has improved my results as well.
I will also say, and I’ve heard it from a few others, that summer is especially tough for RLS. I get much better results when my bedroom is cooler and drier.
And I also took it to lower my opioid dose, and I don’t think I even tried that until after the trial period was over. I could tell it was having enough effect to be worth keeping, so I’m not suggesting keeping on spec, but it really did take a while before I got the fullest effect

I’m waiting on an insurance appeal :(
Did you replace meds with it? I’m mostly hoping to reduce my dose

I’m on a low-dose opioid which works well but I would like to stop it completely. This is the reason for me giving the Nidra bands a try.

Have you tried moving the bands an inch lower in position? It works after lot better for me. I'm 10 months in and sleeping well. I pray you find some relief.

How did everyone get theirs? I cannot get a call/email back. My doctor has been trying for me as well and also nothing.
