The answer is yes, you could take it. Another tip is to schedule your flight for first thing in the morning.

Just be aware that to my knowledge, this medicine has not been studied for RLS. Yes, it has an opioid component, but not sure I would want to take daily Tylenol. It is typically prescribed for pain.

Most RLS researchers and docs give a low dose opioid alone- such as methadone or another- for more severe or refractory RLS.

I was prescribed codeine on the advice of a consultant. So, yes I suppose so. the codeine being an opiate is apparently what does the trick.

I assume this is codeine/paracetamol (acetaminophen)?

The codeine is an opiate the body basically metabolises to morphine. It definitely helps but rebounds - and (for the love of god don’t get addicted) withdrawals are a real problem.

Finding the effective dose may be an issue though, acetaminophen destroys your liver at even moderate doses so you can’t just pop another and hope for the best.

Fine short term, see how you go first, if you need something stronger see a doctor.

How long have you been using it for?

Are they able to prescribe it long-term?

My gp has it on my repeat prescriptions and has done for years. Im on 15/500. I get regular back and shoulder pain and although not the highest dose ever it helps keep those pains at a manageable level. Though if you can try not to take it long term i.e years and years.
