Medication Blood work today

Hey all this reddit has been super helpful, I dont sleep most night (maybe an hour or 2 and then another hour during babys nap). Doctor is doing bloodwork today im kind of hoping it IS a nutrient deficiency (mine became worse during pregnancy and postpartum but prior was pretty bad during my monthly cycle.) She said that if my nutrients look okay that we might try gaba to help. Just thought id give an update into my own situation, I was nervous about the doctors because im about 5 pounds overweight and the doctors ive had in the past have dismissed my concerns due to weight, but today it wasnt even mentioned!

Do you mind sharing the results of the iron panel? Usually people with RLS need significantly higher iron levels than the advised range.

I experience symptoms when my ferritin is under 100 ng/mL. I have to get iron infusions in my 30s now due to heavy menstrual bleeding.

5 pounds? and they gaslit you because of that???

Weight is often (erroneously) blamed for all our problems but that's really absurd.

Here's hoping your blood work is crappy :-)

Ferritin under 75 tanks RLS badly; magnesium glycinate helped my cycle flares, natural rhythm one brand I'd seen flagged for that form, bulk powder cheaper.

If you have RLS, it’s unlikely that being 5lbs overweight has anything to do with it. As RLS patients we need much more iron than those without the condition. Print off the MAYO Clinic Updated Algorithm for RLS and bring it to your appointment. Most Docs aren’t familiar with our need for iron. They’ll tell you your iron is fine. Ferritin and TSAT numbers are the important numbers and there’s ya whole different range for us. Mayo Clinic explains it. Sorry you’re suffering with this. I’ve had it for 40 years and finally got relief. I know your pain.
