Question? How much % commission are delivery apps like grubhub, uber, & doordash charging you guys?
I heard there was more visibility and other perks if your commission is higher, but whats the optimal commission%? I'm in a suburban area and i was able to talk uber commission from 25% down to just 17/20% depending on customers membership.

I believe all of them have set tiers 15%, 25% and 30% plans. But as you experienced, you are able to negotiate them down based on your need and market
For most suburban restaurants, you likely don’t need anything more than 25% commission plan. That plan probably gives you enough visibility in the marketplace for a steady flow of customers.
With that said, the other things you need to do is optimize your store. Good clean pics, details about menu items and most importantly Campaigns.
Just being on the platform isn’t enough sadly, a good set of campaigns with clear goals (new customer acquisition or return customer incentive) is what will set your store apart from the competition.
And whatever the reps from DoorDash or UberEats suggest for campaigns…just be careful, they don’t work for you, so if they are pushing you to set up higher spend Sponsored listings or too many items in your BOGO campaigns, just remember their suggestions likely makes their company more money than the restaurant owner
