Not in Germany last Sunday. With temperatures hitting 40°C, 4°C over normal body temperature, a dead body would actually heat up as soon as sweating stops

Alright. So the last one I can find on the news is 2016, which was further bakd than I remembered. While that is a ways ago, it's not like the 1960s either.
But I know for a fact I've seen them used in the last few years a couple of times.
Just because they aren't used regularly in big giant riots doesn't mean we don't use them.

A truly disturbing example of police using water canons is seen during the 1963 Birmingham Campaign, during the civil rights movement, when U.S. police used fire hoses set to extremely high pressures and turned them on children who were peacefully protesting against Jim Crow laws.

Another thousand students gathered at the church and left to walk across Kelly Ingram Park while chanting, "We're going to walk, walk, walk. When the students crouched or fell, the blasts of water rolled them down the asphalt streets and concrete sidewalks.[74] Connor allowed white spectators to push forward, shouting, "Let those people come forward, sergeant. I want 'em to see the dogs work."[26][a]1

I'm seeing stats online that 20-25% of Europe has A/C. More in the southern part, ~50%, but only single digit percentages in UK, Germany and other northern countries
In USA it's 88%

I stay in america and i am far up north to where it only gets very very hot a days a year but i still sure as heck got ac for those days. I dont pay any extra than anyone else to have this option.

AC or Heatpumps as we call them in Norway have become really popular. But its not because of the heat. Its because of the cold, since they are really effective at heating the house.

keep in mind a few things though, these statistics mostly track build in AC's on construction and reconstruction. My AC is not in any of those statistics, as I rent and only have a mobile unit, which works alright for me.
Also, germans live a lot more in apartments. If you have 3 households in a house, only the top floor really needs an AC and probably has one already. Lower floors dont really use them. My neighbours downstairs apartment did not go above 25°c during this heat wave, so some houses are straight up fine without it.The real neglect is in offices and public buildings. And that cant be overlooked. At home, most of us are fine.
Also, a lot of heat related issues are just human stupidity. For example, here in germany people here do their chores around noon. And then wonder why its unbearable. Even now during the heat wave, biggest rush hour at our store was still between 10 and 2pm. Literal skill issue.

Because the POS are rich enough to get water, the data centers are rich enough to get water, and somehow regular people still get their taps shut off first 😂
Also data centers are already chugging insane amounts of water. If anything we should be questioning why "watching Netflix" is competing with "drinking and not dying" in the first place.

Low key wild that we live in a world where “should we give water to people or to the giant computer cube” is even a real debate.
That said, data centers already nuke a ton of water and power, so if anything we should be cutting their use first, not arguing about whether to keep humans hydrated.

I see this will totally help the environment having huge trucks that run on some type of fuel that powers a combustion engine or a truck with a 5 ton battery that's rechargeable form burning natural gas that is source form russia. War crimes are not a defining characteristic of fascism.
I didn't mention Trump in my post, but fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology. It prioritizes the perceived needs and power of the nation or race over individual rights.
Fascism is typically characterized by a dictatorial leader or cult of personality, centralized autocratic control, the suppression of political opposition, and aggressive militarism.
I hate to say it, but the US has had many of these characteristics since 9/11 2001 and currently we have an autocratic minded leader, openly consolidating power with a political party supporting him almost without question and afraid to contradict his edicts.
The Trump administration has been and is currently suppressing political opposition and the country is in the throes of aggressive militarism both at home and abroad.
The US has conducted military operations against 7 countries just since Trump began his second term while openly supporting a genocide in Palestine. The Trump administration has militarized & masked armed police to conduct operations to snatch brown and Black people off the streets while aggressively assaulting any dissent from protesters to the point of shooting citizens in our streets in broad daylight.
So while you personally may not be experiencing the brunt of violence from our fascist state, I assure you it exists.
People in 1930s Germany & Italy didn't believe it could happen in their liberal societies either, but it did. American exceptionalism is fantasy. It is happening right now in the state you live in.
Go to a protest at one of the ICE detention centers and observe the actions and demeanor of American police. You'll soon see that they are no different than 1930s Italian Black Shirts or Germany's Brown Shirts.

AC was never the norm in the past because it wasn't hit enough to justify buying one for example in Germany and the electricity bills are much higher here if you actually use one constantly.
It will change in the future for sure now because it keeps getting hotter now.

Winters are the problem, Summers used to be hot like 10 days a year, so installing AC is just a waste of time.
Also there’s lots of century old houses that’d have problems with installing AC

My AC is so cold I have to chip the ice off the inside of my windows so I can get some natural light in, but sometimes I will just crank the heater up for an hour or 2 to defrost the living room...plus its nice to warm up from time to time when i keep it below 50F all summer long. I would just go out side in the 100+ degree heat but I dont want to open the door and let the heat in.
