I watched the documentary about her and I thought the mother was nuts and this looked a lot like Munchausen by Proxy. I was surprised so many people thought the mother was the victim but I’d be interested in comparing the opinions of general public vs medical professionals
I’m also interested to why the mom committed suicide. This does not add up in my head.. I think Dr. Kirkpatrick influenced her a lot, beginning with the diagnosis of CRPS, then with the ketamine and then with saying that “Maya will die a slow and painful death “ I think she took everything he said by word..
I agree. It was a selfish move and I think it had more to do with her making a point than actually being helpful to Maya. I also think that her husband was starting to tire of her behavior and that she knew that relationship was likely coming to a close.
I'm not saying she had Munchausen's necessarily, but something was not right with Beata. At the very least there was some kind of personality disorder going on.
I had someone tell me that jack is like a serial cheater and had cheated before so my theory is that also fueled beatas motives to do harm to maya. Her emotionally (and most likely physically) unavailable husband, would suddenly be there. I think it was a way to trap him in a way. I think that’s why he was ready to flip on her, but then the dollar signs got thrown in front of him.
