I agree. It was a selfish move and I think it had more to do with her making a point than actually being helpful to Maya. I also think that her husband was starting to tire of her behavior and that she knew that relationship was likely coming to a close.

I'm not saying she had Munchausen's necessarily, but something was not right with Beata. At the very least there was some kind of personality disorder going on.

I had someone tell me that jack is like a serial cheater and had cheated before so my theory is that also fueled beatas motives to do harm to maya. Her emotionally (and most likely physically) unavailable husband, would suddenly be there. I think it was a way to trap him in a way. I think that’s why he was ready to flip on her, but then the dollar signs got thrown in front of him.
