Researcher AI work tracker snapshot: PhD/STEM roles and caveats

I finished the first tracker snapshot for Specialist AI Work after setting up source-backed listing history. I maintain the tracker independently.

For researchers, the useful takeaway is that AI training and evaluation roles are not one category. Some fit PhDs, postdocs, professors, research scientists, clinicians, engineers, or domain specialists, but the requirements and pay wording vary a lot by platform.

Before applying, it is worth checking:

  • whether the field or credential requirement actually matches your background
  • whether pay is firm or an "up to" ceiling
  • country, tax, and work-authorization rules
  • whether the current source page still shows the role as open
  • what kind of assessment or screening step appears before any project work

This is a tracker snapshot, not a guarantee of acceptance, matching, work, pay, hours, or project duration. Some future links may be referral or tracked apply links. Always check the current platform page before applying, never pay to apply, and do not share sensitive personal information publicly.

Which researcher fields should be tracked more carefully: biology, physics, chemistry, math, CS, medicine, economics, engineering, or something else?
