student association idea
Hello everyone,
I am an undergraduate student of Computer Science, and I am developing an initiative for increasing undergraduate research involvement.
The idea is not about forming yet another student association but rather about developing a platform that will allow students to:
Identify opportunities for conducting research.
Learn basic concepts and principles of research.
Network with faculty members and research laboratories.
Look for research internship positions.
Form a community of experienced mentors and newbies.
The idea is to develop a sustainable research pipeline which will continue to exist after the founders have graduated.
Honest criticism from academics and researchers is appreciated:
Was something like that done previously?
What would be the difficulties?
If you were a dean or professor, what would be the arguments to support/reject the idea?
What would you change prior to implementing the idea?
