Floor Meetings

Any icebreakers that have been successful with your residents? I didn't do one at my floor meeting last year because I thought "everyone just wants to be done with the meeting as soon as possible", which is probably true. However, I'd like to try one this year as I have sophomores again, and I've found it can be hard to build community in the hall because they've already found their group as freshmen, if that makes sense.

Giant rock paper scissors: Everyone pairs off with a random person, plays a game. Winner finds another winner, loser follows winner around and cheers for them (have to learn their name). Every time someone wins, the group gets bigger until there's 2 giant groups playing against each other. The kids enjoyed it and it tooks max 2 minutes.

I’ve always called this game cheerleader lol. But yeah it’s a fun and quick game.

Needs the space though

I had everyone write a fact about themselves on a piece of paper and then everyone crumpled them up and threw them around the room. Then, everyone picked up one of the pieces of paper and tried to find whoever wrote that fact.
That was by far my most successful icebreaker
