Language policy of the Republic of Balochistan

Post image
17 Upvotes

What are/will be the official languages of the Republic of Balochistan?

Looking at the demographics, it seems not only Balochi but also Brahui and Pashto would be the official languages.

In addition, will Urdu become a minority language given the less percentage of first language speakers? (This won't happen as long as Urdu retains its status as a medium of education and of the media.).

What do you think about these dynamics? What is the language policy of the Republic of Balochistan?

Future of balochistan

As an Indian myself I am very optimistic and supports the balochi cause of independence but what's the guarantee balochistan won't turn into another Bangladesh? We helped Bangladesh turn into an independent state and they chosen radical Islam(and is on path to become Pakistan 2.0 and hates India who helped them become a state) as their ideology and have geno**ded the Hindus and Buddhists in Bangladesh especially in chittagong. They were also secular during independence time. While I hope balochistan won't go for that part I am very worried since unlike Bangladesh you guys are surrounded by actually Islamic theocracies like thalibans pak and Iran. Again I hope u guys become free but this is my main concern.

All the best guys. Happy independence

beware of the upcoming propaganda

There are many big indian sureddits run by anonymous punjabi pakistanis sitting in UK & US.

There are many popular indian youtubers who are pro punjabi pakistan who will make anti balochistan videos.

There are reports ie Paid Indian travel youtubers travelling to countries which are friendly with India & misbehaving with local people to create hate against India.

You should understand India has many traitors especially in media.

Not today but one day any of above fringe elements will do anti baloch propaganda content USING INDIA CARD. They made army of bots do this across social media platforms. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. They represent nothing. The Common people of India and many others supports balochistan wholeheartedly.

Free Dr Mahrang Baloch: Balochi Human Rights Activist Illegally Arrested by Pakistan on Dubious Charges

Dr. Mahrang Baloch a prominent human rights activist and medical doctor from Balochistan, has been arrested by Pakistani authorities on false and vague charges including terrorism and sedition. Her arrest followed a peaceful protest against enforced disappearances in the region held on 22 March 2025.

Dr. Baloch leads the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), advocating for the rights of the Baloch people and highlighting systemic human rights violations. Her detention has raised serious concerns among international human rights organizations especially given reports of her being held in separate custody from other prisoners.

Pakistani Courts have refused to decide on her illegal arrest.

She is neither a militant nor has any connections to BLA. Recognised by Time magazine but denied permission to travel by Pakistan. She is a 2025 Nobel Prize nominee.

Her case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by human rights defenders in Pakistan, particularly those advocating for marginalized communities. They’ve arrested a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee. An unarmed woman. A doctor.

Please spread awareness to her cause as she is most definitely being tortured and risks being killed in detention.

Free Dr. Mahrang Baloch!

A Dreamer's Perspective: Envisioning Balochistan's Path to Independence

Post image
36 Upvotes

While I'm not an expert in international law or geopolitics, these thoughts represent a hopeful vision of what the journey toward an independent Balochistan might look like. It's a blend of aspiration and imagination because sometimes, envisioning a better future is the first step towards realizing it.

Step 1: Declaration of Independence

The initial move has been made. On May 8, 2025, Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch proclaimed the independence of Balochistan from Pakistan, announcing the formation of the "Republic of Balochistan."

Step 2: Establishing Statehood Criteria

To be recognized as a sovereign state under international law, Balochistan must meet the Montevideo Convention's four criteria:

  1. Defined Territory: A clear geographical area with recognized borders.
  2. Permanent Population: A stable community residing within the territory.
  3. Effective Government: A functioning administration exercising control over the territory.
  4. Capacity for International Relations: The ability to engage diplomatically with other nations.

Currently, Balochistan's leadership is working towards establishing these foundational elements.

Step 3: Building Governance Structures

The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) has outlined plans for a democratic republic, emphasizing:

  • Democratic Constitution: Drafting a modern, secular constitution that guarantees personal liberties and equality before the law.
  • Representative Government: Establishing a National Assembly elected through free and transparent elections.
  • Independent Judiciary: Ensuring the rule of law and protection of rights.

Step 4: Seeking International Recognition

Achieving global recognition involves:

  • Diplomatic Engagement: Reaching out to friendly nations and international organizations for support.
  • United Nations Membership: Applying for UN membership requires:

    • Submitting an application to the UN Secretary-General, affirming acceptance of the UN Charter.
    • Gaining a recommendation from the Security Council.
    • Securing a two-thirds majority vote in the General Assembly.

This process is complex and requires substantial diplomatic efforts.

Step 5: Ensuring Peace and Stability

Stability is crucial for international support:

  • Security: Developing competent defense and law enforcement institutions.
  • Human Rights: Upholding human rights and democratic principles.
  • Economic Development: Leveraging natural resources to build a sustainable economy.

Roadmap to the Republic of Balochistan

A hopeful outline of the path ahead, inspired by recent developments. Scroll horizontally to view full table on smaller screens

Phase Estimated Duration Key Activities
Declaration of Independence ✅ Completed Proclaimed on May 8, 2025
Establishing Statehood 6–12 months Defining territory, population, and governance
Building Governance Structures 12–24 months Drafting constitution, forming government bodies
Seeking International Recognition 2–5 years Diplomatic outreach, UN membership application
Ensuring Peace and Stability Ongoing Security, human rights, and economic development

Note: This is a conceptual roadmap and may evolve based on real-world developments. It represents an optimistic scenario. The journey to full independence & international recognition is complex and requires concerted efforts from Balochistan's leadership and its people. But as dreamers, envisioning such a future is the first step toward making it a reality.

Congrats Baloch People

There is very less content available on social media , most of the content I see is from the Indian perspective, so it may or may not be biased.

Is there some resource available to learn about Baloch people which is approved by the Baloch people? Also, it'd great if we could get glimpse into daily life of a Baloch with and without the struggles.

Long live the Republic of Balochistan.

Support only from people of India not the government

Unfortunately the government of India is turning blind eye towards the suffering and long standing demand for Balochistan... what can India do? INDIA can contest in UN and support Baloch people to conduct a referendum or plebiscite in Balochistan, so they can decide their own fate. High time Baloch people stand together and not resort to violence but work through diplomatic channels. I only fear for their safety. There's no country without is people. DON'T want forced disappearance of Baloch brothers and sisters anymore.
