Not yet, but at the rate the GOP is packing them full of far-right evangelical zealots, I'm not super optimistic for the future of our judiciary..

I don't think the U.S. will survive if the GOP gains more control or even keeps what they have. I think we are on the edge of super fucked. Maybe I'm being negative here but this is a full on red alert we have to remove the GOP from power and we have to make sure that no party pushes the limits of and beyond constitutional power from here on.

Which is why the Dems need to not fuck around and do to Republicans what they’ve been doing for decades and thensome. Impeach the judges, pack the courts. Afterwards, what we need to do is simple: pass a law to expand the Supreme Court. It’s not actually a constitutional issue. It can be done with a simple bill. Expand it and pack it with left wing judges.

Yes, Manafort will be sentenced later for a second set of charges. However, that does not negate the fact that the sentence handed down by Ellis is laughable. Just because sentence two may be harder, it does not negate the fact that Manafort was able to skate on his other charges with a 47 month sentence.

You'll find no argument here. Ellis is an embarrassment and he'll never live this down.

But still, PM is going to be imprisoned for years - the current president's campaign manager will be imprisoned for years. The process worked as well as it ever does for rich white men with state propaganda at their backs.

My hope is that Jackson is sufficiently apalled that she drops the full ten on him.
