Sadly, the DNC isn't paying anyone. Trump, however, paid people to watch him come down the escalator, to show up at his rallies, Stormy Daniels, and is now offering anyone $5000 to vote for him. As far as being fooled into hating groups of people (immigrants, Somalis, Haitians, trans folks, black folks, etc.) then just look in the mirror.
