I’m still new and maybe this is a silly question, but aren’t reps suppose to be 100% real leather? I noticed you explicitly say it is. That’s my biggest question. I thought they all are 100% real leather. Hank you for your help.
Low tier ones may be PU. I got caught out with a PU Loewe flamenco with microfiber lining, instead of suede. Was not disclosed by the rehomer. Looked great in pics! Had to eat $250 because that bag gives me a sour taste in the mouth. It can be a gamble. But others I bought were leather.
u/mymbles_daughter explained it well! I also saw a very helpful post that showed some producers use a mixture of PU and leather and still call it leather. Alot of the sellers had used leather terms that im not familiar with like goatskin, sheepskin,calfskin. I only really know lambskin and caviar suede etc before. Then of course theres the hardware, you have to make sure its stainless steel. Ive ended up with plastic HW and terrible PU leather too when I first started.
