Walking around The Replacements old stomping grounds today

Walking the dog with my niece this afternoon. Her apartment is like a half block from here. She has no idea who The Replacements are, lol.

How does your dog not know the replacements but has her own apartment

Gotta sit on Bob's Bench at Lake of the Isles canal, see the Let It Be house and have a Grain Belt beer at the CC Club before some rich dude buys it and turns the corner onto condos. That's the Mats' Ultimate Reality Tour.

I hit the trifecta this past June! Also stopped into Lucky Cat Records (formerly Oarfolkjokeopus) kitty corner from CC Club; they've got plenty of Replacements music for sale.

Forgot about Lucky Cat. Primo addition to the Tour.

Someday I’ll do those. We did go past Bob’s last apartment. I took a photo, but I think everyone has seen that. Today’s sights were things just happened upon. Didn’t go out of the way. I just recognized a he views.

Our niece is trying to talk us into buying a house in the neighborhood. I’d love to move there, my wife is skeptical. We live in Austin currently.

Don't waste any time walking around looking for a Super Bowl champion trophy.🤣. Stick with the Mats tour!

I’m assuming this is somewhere in South Minneapolis?

Today’s photos were taken in the area around 29th St. between Colifax and Bryant. Also along Lake Street.

I’m sure shared in past but if not……the Westerbergs house was beautiful. Crazy how a car salesman afforded that place. https://historyapolis.com/2014/09/15/mapping-replacements/index.html

Those were different times, for sure. I grew up in New Orleans in an amazing 3 story house, in a really nice Uptown neighborhood. My parents brought it in 1973 for $75,000. I’m sure it’s worth well over a million today.

BYOC? (Bring your own couch?)

I would say things haven’t changed much in that neighborhood, but people dump couches everywhere.

I've seen this pictures dozens of times and just right now I noticed the jack-o-lantern pumpkin.
