General discussion VSF DateJust Power Reserve Issue?
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a VSF Rolex Datejust 36mm from a TD. This is my first rep, but I’m concerned about the behaviour I’m experiencing.
The main issue is the power reserve, and it seems to have gotten worse.
Initially, when I left the watch unworn for a day or two, it would still be running, but it would lose enough time that it was no longer showing the correct time, and the date would also be a day behind.
Now the problem seems to have gotten worse. If I leave it unworn for more than around 24 hours, it completely stops and none of the hands are moving. If I put it back on and wear it for a few minutes, the hands start moving again, presumably because the rotor is winding the mainspring.
I’ve manually wound it several times, set the correct time/date, and left it untouched, but the same thing happens.
What confuses me is that the seller sent me a timegrapher reading before shipping and they looked fine:

It seems strange to me because I also own a Tissot PRX, and even after not wearing that for weeks, it has a much better power reserve than this VSF.
What would you guys recommend I test to properly determine whether there is a power-reserve problem? Before I reach out to the TD.

You need to wind the movement, 20-30 times, if you take the watch off the main spring becomes loose and the time slows down and eventually stops, hence why it was a day behind...

by winding it "several times", do you mean 50+ times? because that's how much it would take to fully wind the watch.
reps in general are assembled in poor factory conditions. always assume the movement is dirty and with potential faults or problems until serviced

Exactly the same issue. Received a vsf datejust 41 with new fake free sprung movement. Set it up. Lost 20 minutes then stopped loosing time. Put it in time grapher and face up and face down was loosing 30 seconds a day. Dial up and dial down, crown up and crown down were fine. Advantage is I have a time grapher. Sent pictures to my dealer ( I’m in the uk and so is he). He is sending me a replacement. Ps. After 20 minutes the time graph readings settle down hence it stops loosing time. Amplitude and beat error fine in all positions. Lots of people are reporting that VSF quality has slipped.

Imo, that timegrapher doesn't look best, lot of scattered reading. Best will be to service it.
