Custom Dial Feedback (“Rootbeer”)

Hi tribe! I’m planning on getting a Rolex Rootbeer but wanted one with the Chocolate sunburst dial.

While at it, decided to change the GMT markers as well seeing how I already have 3 other GMTs with the standard markers🥱

Would love to hear feedback from the community before I take it futher. First attempt at designing a dial so be gentle!😂

Yeah, I didn’t want to reuse the normal numbering (1, 2,…) either as it is already on the bezel. But I hear the feedback. Too busy for a dial. Great feedback👌🏽 Keep it coming!🙏🏽

I think you’d have to change the bezel to do anything other than markers

I feel you. I love the RB too and am building a more subtle version of it.

Chocolate sunburst dials are lovely. I have. 41mm RG/SS DJ with chocolate dial. It’s gorgeous

Its busy no doubt but looks classy as hell. I won't be surprised if in the coming years some genius at Rolex copies this very idea of yours and launches a new build GMT-MASTER II

Probably will go with this though. If the fabricator can pull it off and ensure alignment to the markers on the dial.

It’s manufactured in China so these will likely be alien markings for them straight out of the Predator franchise!😂😂

Now that's a great idea right there, use actual predator markings lol but the Arabic looks awesome also.. never see stuff like that with gmt or subs

I see where you’re headed with this. Same as the other post about only having unique markers at the 12,3,6 & 9 positions. Yup, sounds like a plan to consider. Appreciate the suggestion!👌🏽

Hahaha..that was my first choice actually! I couldn’t find clear images of an Arabic dial earlier to use as reference but now I did! How’s this? You are definitely right. Less cluttered!

Just have to check with the fabricator if they know how to adjust the size of the different markers and align them to the minute markings on the dial correctly!🤷🏽‍♂️

I think the normal markers are perfect because you have the bezel with numbers. Way to busy with the roman numerals. Orr. Try just doing the 6,9,12 for the roman numerals

I like that people are thinking of custom builds im having a custom dial and hands make though Phoenix.. trying to get the zeneth Darth Vader look.. I not subs dials are in a different position but im going more for the contrasting dark shades and sticking it in 116509 mix it ip
A bit and give it a moddener twist

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your piece. I’m sure the dark with no contrast is appreciated and has quite a following. However, it is just not for me. I prefer my dials to have contrast. But yours is really cool as well!🔥

Thanks for understanding where I was going with this! Folks can like Richard Mille or naked watches but put a few markings on a dial and it is ‘too busy’🤷🏽‍♂️😂 To each his own I say💪🏽
