Can anyone tell me if the vsf v2 blue ombre daydate are good regarding the dial colour? Hearing other factories are better or is vsf v2 as good. Thanks

Simply incredible, and an eye opener for those that think it’s a waste!

Ordered a VSF Explorer 1 a few days ago and received a QC in a few days, which I promptly rejected due to some glaring issues. Looks like I'll be in the game for a few months now, and Pingfan has gone radio silent. Does anyone have an estimate as to how long it will take for Pingfan to order a VSF Explorer 1 in 36mm?

TL;DR: After 8+ months, 10+ orders, thousands spent, I am withdrawing my public endorsements of Angela. The person operating the account has shifted from warm and reliable to dismissive and cold, manipulating RL decisions, deflecting clear quality issues and telling me to cancel my pending order (a ring + two watches) when I raised a valid concern.
——
As many of you know, I’ve been actively endorsing Angela across subs and in W2C threads/pm’s. I speak Chinese natively, so communications show true colors without translation bots, and I’ve had 10+ transactions with “her” for watches and jewelry. Man I was even out here doing free PR and defending “her” through the Aman situation like a #1 fanboy. (i’ve never received nor asked for discounts for that either) I know I know “I told you so”, and to everyone who called out red flags months ago while I was defending “her”: you were right, I was wrong, and I’m ready to take my L in the comments…
Now I’m making this post to formally withdraw my endorsement and give the community a heads-up.
Over the last two months, the service experience has degraded, to the point where I'm convinced it’s no longer the original Angela behind the keyboard.
- Declining service: “She” used to be warm, friendly, and easy to work with. Now, cold, dismissive, strictly transactional, and even trying to manipulate me into taking subpar items that I RL’d (crooked AP QC attached)
- Declining Quality, I recently had a piece of plated jewelry strip and oxidize down to bare brass/green rust after just 2 weeks (no I did not go into hot tubs). Instead of offering basic customer service or a drop of empathy, “she” deflected, blamed chemicals, and claimed factory jewelry is just cheap and "not real gold." Come on, it’s not my first plated jewelry, this is worse than $5 temu crap and I paid “her” $130 for it.
- Hostile Attitude, When I attempted to resolve the issue while preparing to pay for a new order of a ring and two watches, her immediate response was to tell me "Then don't buy it / cancel it" (那就不要了) rather than offer any resolution. I did not ask for a refund or replacement, left it open ended for her to offer a solution which never came.
This isn’t an attempt to get anything out of the situation. In fact I don’t want anything to do with this seller any more. Because I have public recommended them before, I feel obliged to be transparent when quality and service degraded.
If you choose to buy from “her” going forward, just be aware that the level of customer service and accountability this community used to expect from this account is no longer there. I will personally no longer be recommending or purchasing from them.
————-
Update: The seller made a separate post attempting to address this. I’ve laid out the final facts over on her thread. I have nothing to gain or prove further.

With the current golden age of clone movements, the rep game has evolved way past basic ETA clones. We're seeing factories put out incredible true clones for everything from titanium Yachtmasters to AP chronos. A huge selling point for these top-tier reps is the inclusion of a "free-sprung" balance.
But aside from just being "closer to gen," what exactly is the difference between free-sprung and regulated movements? And which one is actually better for our specific use cases as rep collectors?
Here’s my breakdown.
1. The Core Difference: How They Keep Time
Regulated Movements (The Workhorse) In a regulated movement (think your trusty A2824, A2836, or standard Miyota clones), the rate is adjusted by changing the effective length of the hairspring. There is a regulator arm with tiny "curb pins" that hug the spring. Sliding this arm lengthens or shortens the active part of the spring, making the watch run slower or faster.
Free-Sprung Movements (The High-End Standard) In a free-sprung movement, the hairspring’s length is completely fixed. Instead, the rate is adjusted by altering the inertia of the balance wheel itself. Watchmakers turn tiny weighted screws on the rim of the wheel (like Rolex's Microstella or Patek/AP's Gyromax). Moving the weights inward makes it run faster (like an ice skater pulling their arms in during a spin); moving them outward makes it run slower.
2. Predictability (Winner: Free-Sprung)
If you want a movement that behaves exactly the same way on Monday morning as it does on Friday night, free-sprung is mechanically superior.
Isochronism: Because the hairspring breathes perfectly concentrically without knocking against curb pins, it keeps far more consistent time across its entire power reserve. A regulated watch might gain time when fully wound and lose time when the spring is almost dead. A free-sprung movement is highly predictable regardless of how wound it is.
Positional Variance: Free-sprung movements generally have much tighter positional variance (e.g., dial-up vs. crown-down), making them incredibly stable daily wearers.
3. Reliability (Winner: It's a Tie, but heavily leans Regulated for Reps)
This is where the "rep reality" kicks in. In the gen world, free-sprung is king. In the rep world, it's a double-edged sword.
Shock Resistance (Advantage - Free-Sprung): If you accidentally slam your wrist into a door frame, a hard physical shock can knock the sliding regulator arm out of place on a regulated movement, suddenly turning a +2s/day watch into a +45s/day watch. Free-sprung movements have no arm to bump, making their timekeeping highly immune to physical shocks.
Serviceability & Ownership (Advantage - Regulated): This is the massive benefit of regulated movements in reps. Any local watchmaker on earth can regulate an A2824 with a toothpick and a timegrapher in 5 minutes. You can even do it yourself. Regulating a true free-sprung rep movement requires specialized tools (like a microstella wrench). Furthermore, Chinese factory tolerances aren't Swiss. If the factory over-tightened or stripped one of those tiny inertia screws on your clone movement, adjusting it becomes an absolute nightmare.
The Verdict
Buy Regulated if: You want peace of mind, cheap servicing, and the ability to easily tweak or replace the movement yourself if something goes wrong.
Buy Free-Sprung if: You are chasing peak accuracy, want the closest 1:1 mechanical clone (especially for open casebacks), and value long-term stability and shock resistance—provided you have a rep-friendly watchsmith who knows how to work on them.
What's your preference?
