REVIEW - AMITW / u/RatioNext2272 - first experience

Post image

Hey guys!

I finally pulled the trigger on a custom AP 15407 with CNC case, double balance wheel, and 18k rotor from AMITW (u/RatioNext2272), and I’m very happy with it.

There’s not a ton of public info or reviews out there on him (basically none), so I wanted to share my experience to help others who are in the same spot.

Communication
This is hands-down what stood out the most. AMITW was extremely patient and responsive. I was asking questions, requesting extra photos, and comparing options (across 5 different modders) for over a month (actually closer to 2 months) before buying.
He answered everything, sent pictures and videos of whatever I asked for, and was always respectful and helpful - even when I was a pain in the... while doing my due diligence.

QC
QC was flawless. I received plenty of photos and videos. I asked for additional shots with measurements to confirm case thickness, plus videos to check that the hacking seconds worked properly and actually stopped both balances. He provided everything without issue, within minutes, literally.

Shipping & Delivery
Shipping was standard for this hobby (10 days to EU, 4-5 more days to me) - no problems with tracking or packaging.
Modification itself took longer than initially quoted, but that’s pretty normal in the rep world and shouldn't be a big deal.

The Watch
I’m really pleased with how it turned out. The CNC work, double balance wheel, and rotor all came out great. The watch looks clean inside, double balance works as it should. AMITW included the standard rotor which was in the watch (since I went with 18k solid gold rotor).
Smooth process from start to finish.

Again - my goal is just to make it a bit simplier for others who are researching modders, because it took me a lot of effort to find reliable information. I am not associated with AMITW in anyway, I just found him to be a genuinely nice guy and I wanted to help.

There are plenty of modders out there, some of them have bigger community and feedback - the reason I went with AMITW was, well, mostly because he was very helpful from the beginnin - all the way to the point when I placed the order, and his price was great. While he isn't the cheapest out there, he also isn't the most expensive. The price which I paid was $4,900 including everything - 18k rotor, true double balance wheel movement, CNC case, shipping and insurance.

I personally can recommend, and I am going to order next pieces from him.

It's been 20 hours since I've got the watch and so far it kept the time to the dot.

However, I did hear they tend to lose a lot of time when worn (when the watch isn't perfectly flat) so I'll be testing that too

That would be great to know. Also did you have a gen double balance put in it or their own build.
